Headshots in Las Vegas | Dorinda

The portrait headshots in this post are of Dorinda Payan, a local realtor of Realty ONE Group here in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dorinda was my realtor when my wife Tonya and I moved here from Portland, Oregon and let me just say, having her as our realtor was the best decision we ever made.

Dorinda was referred to us by a friend of mine here in Las Vegas who used to live next to us in Oregon. I called him for a recommendation and he gave me her name. This was months before we moved. Her personality immediately clicked with Tonya and I and she was on it like a bull-dog on a bone trying to find us a house. She would send us listings after listings getting a feel for what we were after and our style.

When we did land in Las Vegas in November 2018, we finally got to meet her and let’s just say, the rest is history. She and my wife Tonya look like sisters and act like it too. I can’t tell you the amount of times someone has come up to both of them and just “assumed” they were sister and stated that fact more than I can count. Our adventure led us to 50+ houses in and around Las Vegas, Summerlin, and Henderson. You see, Dorinda grew up in Vegas and knows the turf. She wanted to show is all four corners so we could see the types of houses there and the “vibe” of each area, always steering us towards the Summerlin area. I’m glad she did because we know now why. We explored golf course homes (which I wanted) single-level, double-level, new and used. All that being said, we found the perfect house for us at our price point. If you ever want to see our adventures looking at the homes, I recorded most of our antics and posted them on my Instagram channel in the Highlights section called HOME.

We have become family at this point. Not more than three weeks after meeting her, she invited us to have Thanksgiving dinner with her family. We were living in a time-share at the time and it was so nice finally having other people we could gather around that acted just like us :). All I can say is that we feel very fortunate to have found her and her entire family. We have so much in common with them that we never stop laughing, telling war stories, getting together for events, or just plain getting together. I know it will be a forever friendship with our families.

For some of the technical aspects, I used to lights to light her in a clamshell type configuration. One just above eye level and the other has a lower fill light one-stop less lighting so that it filled in the shadows underneath her chin. I also used a hair light that was camera right that highlighted her dark hair. For the fourth light I had one on a mini stand behind her with a 40° grid pointed up at the background to create a lighter type halo behind her separating her from the background.

Below are three images she chose to go on her website business page and social media sites.
