Las Vegas Product Photography Shoot

I recently did a studio shoot with the Lancôme brand lipstick line. I love the brand of this company that ranges from the packaging, to the embossed logo on some of their products. Being a product photographer is Las Vegas does have its advantages sometimes, especially when it’s 112 degrees out (like today). This project I chose to shoot was due to it being #nationallipstickday.

I felt inspired to go out (with my wife of course) to Ulta and go on the hunt for a cool brand of lipstick to photograph. I came across Lancôme and something grabbed me about the packaging, and also it was a “buy one get one free” deal because of the day. This allowed me to get two different kinds of lipstick to shoot.

I purchased a couple different types of lipstick then headed to the sketch pad for a concept (see sketch below). Due to my awesome drawing skills (ok maybe not) I did my best to put my thoughts down. Then started shooting. The second image below was how I began building the set. It morphed as I went along, but you get the idea. It was a good day to be inside creating.
