Ms. Pacific Coast 2019
This post is one that is very special to me. The number one reason is that it is my daughter Kayla. She is a strong confident woman who owns her own salon, is a licensed real-estate agent in Bend, Oregon, and mother of two wonderful boys. As a commercial photographer in Las Vegas as you can image there are plenty of areas that allow me to be creative. One location was Tivoli Village in Summerlin. It’s got a great Italian feel with walkways and architecture, not to mention cool backgrounds. The only downside is you have to purchase a permit for $150.00 to shoot there. Security is pretty tight there and if you’re thinking of “risking” it, I would highly recommend you don’t. Only about 10 minutes into our shoot we were approached by two security guards ready to ask us to leave until I showed them the permit that we purchased. They were super cool after that! Not a huge deal, but being asked to leave the property would not have been cool, especially if you have a crew with you and a concept you’re going after.
I used a one-light setup using Profoto lighting with a large Westcott XL soft-box to control the light. They were about three feet from the background because I wanted a little light on the background to give it a gray tone.
